Organized in 1854 and located in the heart of Cedar Falls, Saint Patrick parish is the oldest parish in Black Hawk County, Iowa. Join us for Mass to learn firsthand what a welcoming parish and school community we have and why 1,150 families and nearly 4,000 parishioners call us home. Fr. Ivan Nienhaus as our new pastor upon the retirement of Fr. Dennis Colter.
At Saint Patrick Parish, we offer many opportunities for adults to become involved in prayer, liturgies, and service to others. Take a look around our website and read our Bulletin to learn more. Register online or in the Parish Office, where you may pick up a "welcome bag" full of information. Ask questions and we can help you find your niche at Saint Patrick!
We are excited that the State of Iowa will begin funding Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) in fall 2023 and will phase all students in by fall 2025. Parents can use this money for tuition and eligible fees for K-12 Catholic education. Parents are encouraged to read about eligibility on the
school websites.
Faith Formation for our youth includes Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) and Youth Ministry. Some grade 3-5 students are continuing with traditional Religious Education classes as we make our full transition to CGS.
We are blessed with committed and energetic parishioners and dedicated staff members. We offer Faith Formation programming for toddlers through adults. By sharing our time, talent and treasure, together we sustain a community of faith now and in the future. Come worship with us!
If you are not Catholic, learn about or sign up for Catholic Faith for Adults (CFFA). We offer this series each year starting in January.
We, the people of St. Patrick Parish, are a faith community sharing ministry and service. We are formed by the Word of God and empowered through prayer, Eucharist, and the other sacraments. We evangelize through example, education and ecumenism. We reverence families of all ages and life circumstances. We will, through responsible stewardship, ensure our ability to continue the mission entrusted to us by Jesus Christ.
