Apply now for the 2025 scholarship!
The Catholic Daughters are now accepting applications for the Don & Mary Wood Scholarship.
Don & Mary were strong proponents of education and Mary was part of the scholarship committee for many years. This year the scholarship will be for $2,000. Application information is also available at the Parish Office. Any high school senior who is a member of St. Patrick Parish and will be continuing their education is eligible to apply. The process includes writing an essay and is due by Friday, April 4, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.
Use the buttons below to download/print an information sheet and an application, or to ask questions.
Feel free to contact Jane Demmer jfdemmer@gmail.com if you have questions.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The Catholic Daughters have been giving a scholarship to a graduating high school senior since 1999. Mary Wood was a member of our Court and a great proponent of the scholarship, so we have named it the Don & Mary Wood Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship has been partially financed by donations from the Wood family and other members of the Parish. The Catholic Daughters provide funds for the scholarship by taking donated cans to the recycling center.
The Catholic Daughters are hoping to be able to financially support sending more members to our State Convention in Sioux City in April 2025. The National Convention is being held in Coralville in 2026, and our Court will be helping host the convention. We know this will require several of our members to attend that convention and the Court would like to be able to pay the registration fee for those that are attending. To facilitate this, we will use the money from the can redemption in the convention fund for now. The can drop-off box is located on the north side of the building outside the kitchen.
We will continue to offer a scholarship to a senior with the funds we currently have and with future donations.
