Matthew 25 Food Pantry

Matthew 25 Food Pantry

  • The Matthew 25 Food Pantry, which is part of our St. Patrick Church Outreach Office, provides healthy food, personal care items, and household items to those in need throughout our Cedar Falls/Waterloo community. We serve approximately 100-125 individuals each month; roughly a third of them are children. Please call 319-266-3523 to schedule your appointment to receive a food box. Clients can visit our emergency food pantry once a month as the need persists. We accommodate special dietary needs whenever possible. All in need are welcome. In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity. USDA Nondiscrimination Statement

  • Staff and volunteers maintain our Matthew 25 emergency food pantry to help our neighbors during times of struggle and crisis. Our food pantry is open twice a week, year-round. We are always accepting donations of shelf-stable foods, personal care items, and household items to distribute when the need arises. The following items may be donated at the St. Patrick Parish Office (located at 705 Main St, Cedar Falls; enter through the door marked Office/Commons) or may be placed on the Social Justice table in the Link Hallway:

  • peanut butter and jelly
  •   pancake mix and syrup
  •   bags or boxes of pasta and rice
  •   instant potatoes and stuffing mix
  •   spaghetti and sauce
  •   mac and cheese
  •   chunky soups and crackers
  •   personal hygiene items
  •   laundry detergent and dish detergent
  •   toilet paper and paper towels

  • Money donated to our Matthew 25 Food Pantry is used to make food purchases from the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, purchase food pantry supplies like thermometers and cleaning supplies, and occasionally personal care items and household items to round out the donations we receive for the blessing bags we make to donate to those experiencing homelessness in the Cedar Valley every Advent and Lenten season.

  • Hours of Operation:  Mondays 9 AM to 12 PM and Thursdays 1 PM to 4 PM.

Please call 319-266-3523 to make an appointment. Voicemail messages are returned during the Matthew 25 hours posted above. We are closed on any holidays or inclement weather days that the parish office is closed.
