Matthew 25 will be making 50 blessing bags again for those experiencing homelessness in the Cedar Valley this Lenten season.

This round of blessing bags will go to Hospitality House in Waterloo. Hospitality House is a warming station that also provides a meal, the ability to do laundry and shower, as well as necessary items for daily life, and help contacting social services as needed.

Hospitality House receives visits from 25-30 new people each month experiencing homelessness.

Items needed for the blessing bags include:

50 unisex bottles of deodorant,

40 reusable water bottles,

5 boxes of maxi pads,

5 boxes of tampons,

42 tubes of Neosporin/antibiotic ointment,

20 hairbrushes,

 30 combs,

44 winter scarves,

50 bike locks (the chain kind),

35 pocket calendars,

8 nail clippers,

10 adult size winter hats,

50 adult size winter gloves/mittens,

11 boxes of Band-Aids, (assorted sizes), and

50 tuna/chicken and cracker kits.

Many of these items can be found inexpensively at Dollar Tree.

Please drop off all donations in the cart outside the Matthew 25 office or on the Matthew 25 table in the link hallway by 5:00pm Wednesday, April 9. If you have donation item questions, please email Cindy at pastoralcare@saintpatrickcf.org
